Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club

Membership Information

 

The Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's was established to formally honor the contributions of the many outstanding athletes, coaches, administrators, teachers, mentors and supporters of the Greater Waterbury athletic programs. Any individual with a demonstrated interest and/or extensive history within the Greater Waterbury Athletic Programs and/or community may submit an application.

Membership into the Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club is a short process. In order to be considered for acceptance into the club, you must first be at least 21 years of age. An application must be filled out, and must be accompanied by a reference from at least one current member of the Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club.

Once the application has been submitted by the proper reference(s), your application will go to the club officers for an official vote into the club. Whether you are voted into the club or declined, you will be notified by one of the officers of the Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club.

Dues: The club has annual dues of $20.00 that are assessed from July 1st - June 30th of each year. These dues are to be turned into the Treasurer by check or cash. Any checks need to be made out to "Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club"

Membership Benefits: (1) Attend all meetings and be eligible to nominate and vote for officers (2) Attend all meetings and be eligible to make motions at meetings pertaining to meeting agenda items (3) Attend all meetings and be eligible to nominate, vote, and participate in all committees as they pertain to the Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club (4) Attend all meetings and be eligible to nominate and vote for all Scholarship Recipients, Award Recipients, HOF inductees, Patriotism Awards, Community Service Awards, Organization of the Year, and any other awards or recognition that may be given by the Greater Waterbury Sportsmen's Club (5) ANY active member who has been a member for twenty (20) years will be granted Lifetime Membership status. Those members will be dismissed from yearly dues and recognized each year thereafter by the organization

*Please note that the benefits are only eligible if dues are paid and up-to-date with the Treasurer by July 1st of each year.

The GREATER WATERBURY SPORTSMEN'S CLUB INC. is organized in accordance with the Connecticut Revised Nonstock Corporation Act, as amended. The organization has not been formed for the purposes of making profit or obtaining personal financial gain. The assets and income of this organization shall not be distributed to or for the benefit of the trustees, directors/officers, or any other members. This organization shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried out by a non-profit organization exempt from federal income tax. The organization shall not endorse any candidate or contribute to or work for or otherwise support or oppose any candidate for public office. This organization has been created exclusively for purposes subsequent to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
